Heavy-fleet fuel control at a mine site

At a mine site in harsh terrain, machines were refueled in the field by mobile tanker rather than from a fixed station. Refuelings were recorded on paper, and how much fuel was dispensed to which machine could not be reliably tracked.

Without shift-based consumption visibility, overfilling, unrecorded withdrawals and true cost analysis per machine were impossible.

By integrating a meter and vehicle-identification (RFID) system into the mobile tanker, every refueling was recorded automatically with the vehicle, operator, liters, date and location.

As the site was off-grid, data was transmitted to the central panel over GSM; consumption reports per shift and per machine began to be produced automatically.
