The situation before automation
At the data center, which must run without interruption, generator fuel level was checked by hand. During a power outage, how long autonomous operation could last was not known in real time.
Because a low level was only noticed on site, the risk of fuel running out at critical moments could not be managed.
The PetroDATA approach
A level probe was fitted to the generator day tank; fuel level and estimated autonomy time were made continuously visible on the central panel.
An automatic early warning (SMS/email) was set up when the level fell below the defined threshold; refueling was done in a planned manner before depletion.
